About Lora

Her story

Lora Kay Morrow grew up in Florence, Alabama and attended Florence City Schools. After marrying her high school sweetheart, she went on to study chemistry and earn her Bachelor of Science at the University of North Alabama.

Her first job was working for TVA at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant as a nuclear chemistry analyst. After working there for several years, she took time off to raise her children. During that time, she worked part-time as a substitute teacher for Lauderdale County and Florence City Schools, as well as an administrative assistant at ECM Hospital.

When her children began middle school, Lora decided to return to full-time employment and worked for Boeing on the International Space Station Laboratory Module. Later, she worked as a chemist at an environmental testing laboratory and a ceramic manufacturing facility.  Finally, Lora returned to her original position at TVA, where she was employed for 16 years. Last year, Lora decided to leave her position at TVA and start a rental property business in Florence.

Lora and her husband Billy have been married for 33 years. They are the proud parents of two grown daughters, Jessica and Jennifer, and son-in-law, Garrett.

Lora may seem like the typical mom you would see at the grocery store, but she is a fighter and she’s ready to fight for you!
